Yellow-eyed Penguin Hides at Penguin Place

Outside protected areasby The OPERA (Otago Peninsula Eco Restoration Alliance)

Guided tours of a private conservation reserve on the Otago Peninsula where a network of covered trenches leads to dug-out viewing hides beside yellow-eyed penguin nesting and landing areas. The roughly 90-minute tour includes a short bus ride and about 2 km on foot; the hides let visitors see wild penguins at close range without disturbing them.
