    Peak: Late November to mid-December, before the 16 Dec high-season rate step and while impala lambing is at its peak. Second choice late February.

  • African Leopard at Seronera Valley, central Serengeti — the riverine gallery forest along the Seronera and Ngarenanyuki rivers, within ~10–15 km of Seronera airstrip. The trees are specifically SAUSAGE TREE (Kigelia africana) and YELLOW-BARKED FEVER TREE (Vachellia xanthophloea), plus umbrella thorn — not a generic acacia. Granite kopjes (Seronera, Maasai, Moru) are the secondary rockier version. 2.43°S, 34.82°E.

    Peak: November — short rains bring moody skies and the southbound migration has passed north through Lobo and Seronera, so the parks are 'genuinely quiet.' June is the alternative (dry, short grass, migration west/north of you). Seronera's leopards are RESIDENT, not migratory — the migration is irrelevant to their presence and actively harmful to your experience because it brings the vehicles.
